We're still dim!

Please amplify the issue of Kerala students facing bigotry, xenophobia and racism from SOME SPECIFIC GROUPS of Delhi University students. If you come across this post, please like and share. This is my humble request because literally no one has seen us. Of course, @maithry.du has helped us and DU beat has taken our issue. CM has asked. But there's no systematic response. So please share this.

Many North Indian students harass South Indians, especially Malayàlis and Tamils once. Girls were objectified and students can't even stay online due to inbox spamming and manipulating.
I don't know how we became deserved to this! In fact we have not done anything wrong! We too got admission in DU with our own calibre! This will pertain for the next batches too, if it is like this, and it should stop. Please amplify our cries. Let me provide some detailed descriptions although the sources may vary.

In Ramjas college students unofficial group, during night, your phone will be full of HATE SPEECH. Girls can't be online then because these boys will call them names. These boys say that Kerala students aren't eligible to study in DU because they entered through unfair means. We were called assholes. Girls were catcalled or degraded to sexual objects. Just go through the chats. You'll understand how brilliantly are these guys trying to silence us. One of my friends were literally out of their calmness when they forwarded these pics to me. And let me reveal that right the next day after the Abhishek issue of our college, a similar issue happened during the Bcom induction programme in Ramjas.

Next is the issue of SRCC. There, some conducted a game. Games are funny, but this is not. They played the Yadav game where in some guess whether anyone is a Yadav or not. And somebody when asked why they played like this, they replied that that was just for fun. You'll ask how this is dangerous. These boys will say like ' his face reveals that he's from __" and " he's from _ I guess he's the son of a white man".. and thus goes. This is malicious.

In Shaheed Bhagat Singh college. when a student asked whether the class group had North East students. a student replied "2 plate paneer momos steamed chocolate fried vegetables.... ". Words like Chinki, momos. Chinese etc were used to knowingly hurt our fellow people. Every year, this happens at one or another spot of the world. A similar issue was noticed in Hindu College as well but the North East cell of the college issued statement and called NECS or North East Cells across Delhi to take action against similar wrongdoers.

Of course. we shared with many but most didn't even consider it serious. But one of my teachers said that this is not a first time issue. And I want to note that this is not a first time issue. There's conflict between the natives/ already existing ones and outsiders/ newbies always and it's there since the time of the Aryan arrival in India. But that can't be normalised.

Harmony might seem a very funny word. Because making peace is not so easy. But it's not impossible. Because that's the need. These boys (because they're mostly boys) and others are so senseless and has limited knowledge only but make our lives miserable. It's not us who allowed them. We were the peacefully moving ships. They drilled holes inside us. I repeat, this is not the first time. So obviously our juniors too will have to face this. Their mental health will be affected. Not all will be affected but I know this will surely happen thus. We want to stop this with us. Let we be the last generation who have to learn with bigotry.
xenophobia and racism. Man. I'm not Malala or Greta but if you do your little bit. it'll make a change. Your part matters.

Still, no mainstream media has highlighted our cries except #asianetnews. Hopefully, they arranged a public talk yesterday after one of our friends. Devika U. was interviewed. I was able to talk in it and the video is attached under this. We thank the person who gave the news to Asianet. But we need more attention. We're not attention seekers but protesters for a right cause.
